Kakapo Nesting Table

The following is a nesting table so you can keep track which kakapo are mating and who has laid eggs!

Some interpretation hints:

Eggs / Fostering and movements:

All eggs were fertile unless they are stated as infertile.

HR = chick was handreared

ede = early dead embryo

mde = mid dead embryo

lde = late dead embryo

Mated with:

Males in bold were the successful fathers (where more than one male mated with the female)

AI = Artificial Insemination

Chicks:

M = male

F = female

Rakiura (Codfish)	Barnard	3	R1 hatched in Rakiuras nest. It spent a brief period in the hand rearing unit and was then returned to Rakiura's nest. R2 was temporarily removed to the incubator as an egg, then transferred to Ellies nest where it hatched. R2 is currently spending a few days in the hand rearing unit and should return to Ellie. R3 was temporarily removed to the incubator as an egg, then it was fostered to Solstice briefly where it hatched, then it spent some time being hand reared and is now being fostered by Cyndy. Solstice (Sol) (Codfish)	Luke and Waynebo	3	Sol1 egg fostered to Suzanne, then transferred to the incubator as it was cracked. Sol1 chick then fostered to Cyndy. Sol2 fostered to Suzanne (and was briefly transfered to the incubator for management). Sol2 hatched back with Suzanne but is currently being hand reared. Sol3 transferred to incubator where it hatched, then it was fostered to Suzanne as a chick. After spending a brief period being hand reared it is now back with Suzanne.	All 3 eggs fertile.
