Lisa does it again

Dana roared into the hut this evening, really excited to share news that she thought Lisa has mated with Basil. It's easily confirmed, and it shows that once again Lisa is the first female to do the honorable thing for her kind.

It's so exciting, because even mating hasn't occurred for three years, and it shows that the predictions of breeding happening this summer are true! Dana is one of our long-term volunteers and she has been helping us keep a close eye on what Lisa is up to. Today she downloaded data from the SNARK that showed Lisa and Basil had been up round a track&bowl; and then when she looked in the bowl depression on the ground, saw evidence of the mating for sure - lots of down feathers left behind.
