This week has been another one of excitement and disappointment.  Lisa's chick seemed to be doing well until the shock discovery of finding it dead in the nest on Saturday night.  It was really heartbreaking.

But we have to turn our attention to the good news, which is that both of Rakiura's eggs have hatched - the best kind of Easter egg!  They're both being hand-raised at base.  There are still five eggs to hatch as well, so things are still incredibly busy here and it's hard to keep up with sleep.
